I upgraded to Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft), and ever since
can't view php files in eclipse.

With Synaptic:
I've tried reinstalling 3.2.1, and adding php with the
Software Updates -> find and install.

With Downloaded Eclipse Packages (tar.gz):
I've tried installing 3.2.1, and adding phpeclipse with
find/install.
I've tried installing 3.2.0, and adding phpeclipse with
find/install.
I tried upgrading from 3.2.0 to 3.2.1.

Every time I try to double-click a php file to open it,
I get this error message: "An error has occurred. See
error log for more details". It then shows a tab called
"PHP Editor", but this tab has no content.

The problem also exists in version 1.17. Eclipse v3.2.1
is what's available for Edgy. v. 3.1.2 is what was
installed on Dapper...looks like that's our problem. Is
there a workaround or a quick fix? I suppose we could
revert to the earlier version of Eclipse.

Attached is an error log. Please help!!!!

Chad:
First you run under GCJ. You should try to run with a SUN
JVM instead, using the latest 1.5 version.
Then 1.1.7 has never ben tested with 3.2.0 and 3.2.1.
We are working on a version taht works correctly and you
could try either the 1.1.8 release or the 1.1.9 CVS build
that's available for download @ sf.net.
But in any case, using a Sun JVM would help significantly.

I have the same problem. I'm running under Ubuntu Edgy and
using the Sun JVM with GCJ didn't help. Upgrading to the CVS
version of phpeclipse solved the problem.

Could each attach a log?
Regarding Eclipse, where did you get it from? Eclipse.org?
