Can you please post more information about your system? What version of PHPEclipse, Eclipse, and Java. I tested this with Nightly of PHPEclipse, Java 1.6 and Europa and i was able to create a new file with hyphens in the name.

Thanks.

Hi is the info you required, let me know if you need more:

Java V1.6.0_03-b05
Window xp sp2
PHPEclipse V1.0.0.v20070917

action:
right click on folder in php explorer -> new -> php file -> enter name with hythen e.g. test-file.php -> error msg = "file contians illigal characters" (incidentally contains and illegal is spelt wrong!)

Rowan,

Thanks for the info, but it does not appear that you are using PHPEclipse, but PDT. When you installed PHPEclipse, did you do it from the update site http://update.phpeclipse.net/update/nightly? From the screen shot and me testing on my work windows box, looks like you are using PDT, because my new file screen did not look like yours, and i did not get that error.

I am running
Eclipse 3.3.0,
PHPEclipse Nightly
on Windows XP.

Thanks.

I'm really sorry, I didn't know there were two php eclipse projects. Sorry for wasting your time, I think I'll try phpeclipse and see what it is like.

This bug was for PDT and not PHPEclipse.
Invalid so closing it as such.

Thanks.
