Pablo Aguiar, a.k.a. scorphus, is a freelance consultant from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He first came across PHPeclipse in middle 2006 when looking for a PHP IDE (in that time he was using ​jEdit). With a big help from ​Shu-Wai Chow's ​PHPEclipse: A User Guide (read in a couple days :), he quickly chose PHPeclipse and turned into a user with rather easiness, except for making Xdebug work, which led him to the IRC channel and to meet other developers.

As a passionate OSS enthusiast and developer (C/C++, Java, Python, PHP among others), he was always looking for some project to contribute to. In late January 2007 he decided to stop being just a user and joined the PHPeclipse Developer Team beginning with small contributions such as documentation and some bug triage, started understanding how both Eclipse Platform and PHPeclipse plug-in work until fixing the very first bug on March 22 2007. That was a tricky one to fix, although the solution was rather simple.

Since then, his major contribution was the PHP Manual View, an asset that shows manual page for a given selected function in the bottom of the Eclipse window. Besides that, he helps testing bugs related to Xdebug and DBG and tries to answer questions related to them in the forums.

In his very rare spare time he is a hobbyist musician, he plays percussions and is learning transverse flute. In sports, he is a long distance swimmer and cyclist.
